Some people, often without knowing it, suffer from the oscillating movements of the boat, this causes nausea and discomfort, ruining a magnificent experience. If you think you may have this condition ask your doctor if you can take tablets for seasickness.
Your tours will start with your pickup in Sorrento (or another pre agreed location) at 14.45h, our staff will collect you for your transfer to The Diving Centre, situated in the picturesque harbour of Marina della Lobra in Massa Lubrense. If you prefer to make your own way to us – meeting time is 15.00h. After a quick introduction of our staff and the other guests on the tour with you, we will get you set up with your equipment and the information for the afternoon’s snorkelling. Then we will head straight off on the boat to the stunning waters off the Island of Capri. You will be accompanied on this tour by an expert Marine Biologist, who will enthral you with information about our stretch of coastline and its unique biodiversity, located in the protected marine area of Punta Campanella. This protected area covers around 1,400 hectares, and approximately 40km of coastline. Depending on the atmospheric conditions and those of the currents, our staff will decide upon the perfect area for you to snorkel. If you like our expert Marine Biologist will even be able to snorkel with you, so you can ask questions in real time.
Punta Campanella è la lingua di terra che separa il Golfo di Napoli da quello di Salerno. Punta Campanella is the outcrop of land that separates the Gulf of Salerno and the Gulf of Naples. Steep limestone cliff faces are extremely characteristic of this area, overhanging directly onto the sea, full of caves and ravines alive with sponges and madrepore stony corals. This area normally has particularly good under water visibility allowing you to see even the deeper seabed’s well. At the right time of year, you can be fortunate enough to encounter both dolphins and sea turtles. And there is always a chance to spot seahorses, star fish and sea urchins.
The cove of Mitigliano is an inlet between Punta Baccoli and Fossa Papa. It has a rocky beach and crystal waters plus a jaw dropping view out to Capri. The seabed is covered in Posidonia oceanica – Neptune Grass – and hiding among its long leaves are a wealth of marine life, which can easily be picked out if you look closely. This is also the perfect habitat for scorpion fish, damsel fish and sea bream. Ready to go with your mask, snorkel and flippers, dip into the crystal clear waters of the protected marine areas, and with a little luck you could be there when a school of barracudas swim by – and watch out for the tuna – an amazing sight to experience!

I've been diving for 15 years... with dry suits in the San Juan Islands of Washington State to Tee shirts in Bonaire and Roatan, The GBR, The Coral Sea and Poor Knights Island, NZ. My dive with DIve Master Vittoria on the Banco Santa Croce site was a Top Three Dive for me. With Tuna feeding on schools of sardines back dropped to beautiful Mediterranean coral... this dive had it all. The Professional, experienced and fun shore crew at Punta Campanella Diving Center made this a perfect day.
